May 14, 2005: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day 

Genesee County Road Commission's Local Road Agreement for the widening of Hill Road from Center to Genesee Road with Hill Road was approved by the Township Board, with the County paying 10%, Government paying 80% of the 3 lane widening. Grand Blanc Township is paying 10% for a Township total of $172,000.00.

If you didn't buy your Dog License - It's going to cost you ~ March 1 through November 30: $30 for delinquent license issue. All licenses must be purchased at Animal Control after March 1.

Grand Blanc's February 2005 Unemployment rate was 4.55% substantially less that the Flint Statistical Area's 8.9% and Michigan's overall 8.0%.

Grand Blanc developed in the 50's and 60's as a bedroom community for well paid workers employed by General Motors and other elements of the auto industry in the Flint area. Recently, the Grand Blanc area has been attracting new residents from Oakland county, part of the Detroit Metropolitan area. Grand Blanc is situated on the southern border of Genesee county and adjacent to Oakland county.

The Grand Blanc school district is among the higher ranked in Michigan and has been a factor in the Grand Blanc area's growth.
